The Sultan
This amp was inspired by one of my guitar heros, Mark Knopfler, and one of my amp building heros, Trainwreck. Mark asked me to build him something along the Liverpool line, but lower output.   As with any good amp,  things always start to take on their own shape and tone.  I set out to make a 2 el84 22 watt amp,  but wanted to add a half power triode setup.  The sultan changes modes from about 22 watts in full power mode,  to about 10 watts in half power mode.  The Sultan, as with all of my amps, is amazingly touch sensitive and dynamic.  It can go from clean, to totally wild, from the guitars volume, and from your playing technique.
  The Sultan uses a custom special wound output transformer, and is available in 120V, 220V, and 240V configuration.  3 12ax7,s 2 el84, 2 6v6.

CLIPS
I have finally gotten a quick clip of the Sultan.  This is just a little 30 second clip of it. a low res mp3, and a higher res wav file so you can chose for your download speed.
Also, the amp is the main amp used on the new Mark Knopfler song "Cleaning My Gun" on his latest CD,  titled Get Lucky.
Here is a quick clip of Sweet Child, showing the higher gain capabilities of the Sultan. Please excuse the clams, and the crappy mix, I left the mix this way so you can hear the guitar more than the backing track. Done with a parts guitar with low output humbuckers.
